Install or Update Halo for Mac



Halo for Mac Installation


Note: Halo for Mac requires activation. To activate, you must have purchased a license for Halo for Mac. If you have any other version of Halo or e.Halo and also want the Mac version, you must purchase a license on our order page before you attempt to install Halo for Mac.


Before you install, make sure you have:

  • Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or later
  • 64-bit Intel Mac
  • Internet connection
  • Purchased a Halo for Mac license


  1. Download the Mac disk image: haloinstall.dmg (4 megabytes)
  2. After the download is complete, run haloinstall.dmg to install (or update) Halo for Mac
  3. After your first installation, you will be prompted to activate Halo. To activate Halo, you must have an Internet connection, and you must have purchased a license for Halo for Mac.

Detailed Instructions for using Halo for Mac can be found in Halo's Help menu.



If you are updating Halo for Mac using the update instructions, you will be asked if the installer should overwrite the current file. You should respond that you want to overwrite it.

  • In yet another attempt at improvement, AA changed some logon authentication protocols. This version supports the new methods.

  • AA once again changed a logon protocol, which affected some connections not to authenticate. This is fixed.
  • Recycle Password was failing because AA's change to logon protocol. This is fixed.

  • Printing Travel Planner in some later versions of macOS caused a crash. This is fixed.

What's New In Version 1.0.4 (January 2, 2015)

  • changed their code for verifying departure time. This was used for LAA ACI. This version uses to check departure time for both LUS and LAA ACI. The Verify feature for checking departure time for scheduling ACI is more dependable. Regardless, always confirm departure date and time for the first leg of a listing before pressing the Submit button for scheduing an Advance Check-In.

What's New In Version 1.0.3 (December 26, 2014)

  • Adjustments to LAA features to support NRTP constant (and annoying) use of popup windows. If you are using Halo for NRTP on LAA flights, this update is critical.

What's New In Version 1.0.2 (December 4, 2014)

  • ACI for LAA
  • AA Password recycle feature (keep your current password active beyond 90 days). If your AA password is expiring (not yet expired), Halo will offer to "recycle" it. It will make the same password active for another 90 days. This applies ONLY to AA passwords - Wings passwords do not expire.
  • Home page added

Note: because Halo for Mac OS X now includes BOTH LAA and LUS for all functions, you must pay special attention for of the airline for which you are creating gofers, checking in, and using ACI. LAA and LUS functions are NOT interchangeable!


Be sure to read the Help on configuring and using ACI and recycling your AA password.
